The Beatles Inside Apple Royal Yarns

When it comes to iconic music groups, there is one band that stands above the rest - The Beatles. Their influence on popular music is immeasurable, and their journey as a band is nothing short of legendary. While we are all familiar with their incredible catalog of songs, there is one chapter in their story that often gets overlooked - their time inside Apple Royal Yarns.
The Birth of Apple Royal Yarns
In 1967, amidst the height of their fame, The Beatles decided to delve into a new venture. Looking for ways to expand their creative horizons, they established Apple Corps, a multimedia corporation aimed at exploring various artistic ventures. One of the most unique branches of this corporation was Apple Royal Yarns.
Apple Royal Yarns was the brainchild of George Harrison's wife, Pattie Boyd. Being an avid knitter herself, she saw an opportunity to create a line of handcrafted, intricately designed yarns inspired by The Beatles and their music. With the full support of the band, Apple Royal Yarns was born.

The Legacy of Apple Royal Yarns

A Day in the Strife:
On September 12, 1969, writer Philip Norman entered the core of Apple Corps — the business that be the Beatles. Only one year earlier, the group had released their first such, citrus-label single — but now, in civil row on Savile Row — John Lennon was calling it quits.
Accepting an impromptu invite, to perform next day at a music festival, a drastic Plastic Ono Band, was quickly drafted and crafted — and with that, Lennon beat feet from the Beatles, all in a line to Allen Klein: "It’s over."
Inside Apple takes a tread on a thread, of olive-green carpet, loose from its stitching — the day a group, unrivaled, also unraveled.
Philip Norman is author of the acclaimed, Shout!: The Beatles in Their Generation, and John Lennon: A Life.
