Mother Teresa's extraordinary journey started at a young age. At 18, she left her home to become a nun in Ireland and received her religious training. In 1929, she sailed to Calcutta, India, where she took her first steps towards helping the destitute and abandoned. Settling in the slums of Calcutta, Mother Teresa taught at a local school and joined the Sisters of Loreto.

Rise of the Missionaries of Charity:

In 1950, Mother Teresa received a "call within a call" from God, urging her to start the Missionaries of Charity. With a mission to serve the poorest of the poor, she opened her first home for the dying and destitute in Calcutta. As word spread about her compassion and commitment, more followers joined Mother Teresa's cause.

Expanded Humanitarian Work:

Mother Teresa's dedication expanded beyond the borders of Calcutta. She established charitable organizations, homes, and centers around the world, providing aid to the needy, regardless of their religion or nationality. From Africa to South America, her selfless efforts instilled hope in countless lives.

Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize:

In 1979, Mother Teresa's relentless dedication to serving humanity earned her the Nobel Peace Prize, further acknowledging her tireless efforts in giving love, dignity, and care to the most vulnerable members of society. She used her newfound recognition to shed light on the plight of the poor and encourage individuals and nations to show compassion and take action.

Legacy and Canonization:

Mother Teresa's legacy continues to inspire generations to this day. After her passing in 1997, her order, the Missionaries of Charity, continued her work around the world. In 2003, she was beatified by Pope John Paul II, and on September 4, 2016, she was canonized as Saint Teresa of Calcutta by Pope Francis.

:

Mother Teresa's life was an embodiment of love, compassion, and unwavering commitment to serving those in need. Her biography serves as a reminder that a single individual, with dedication and a profound belief in the power of kindness, can make an enormous difference in the world. Today, her influence touches millions of lives, inspiring countless people to look within themselves and find their own ways to make this world a better place.
